Train to Gain

What is Train to Gain and how can it help you as an employer?

Train to Gain is part of the Government’s Skills Campaign which is seeking to help individuals and businesses improve their skills so that we can become more successful as a nation.  As an employer, for your business to succeed in the competitive global economy, your employees need more skills than ever before. And with the help of a range of support services provided by Train to Gain, those skills are within your reach.

Train to Gain is a national service supporting employers in improving the skills of your employees as a route to increasing the performance of your businesses.
Train to Gain provides employers with specialist, high quality advice, to help you identify your business training needs; and then will connect you to the publicly or privately funded training you want.

The services employers can expect from Train to Gain:

•    Quality assured advice in highlighting skills needs at every level, from skills brokers and training providers with expertise in the care and childcare sectors;
•    Help sourcing the high quality training and qualifications you need to meet your business needs;
•    An expert who will pull together a training and skills package which may include government training subsidies;
•    For those making the Skills Pledge, follow up advice and support that is fully integrated within the Train to Gain Service;
•    Access to advice on wider business needs, which will be enhanced from April 2009 with the transfer of skills brokerage to Business Link.

As part of the Government’s Skills Campaign, the Train to Gain service can put you in touch with a range of related services.  They will help you understand and take advantage of all the training options available to you.
